“Signature” is anther false friend between Spanish and English

Signature, in English, is the way you sign your name.  Usually it is a bit messy and difficult for others to copy.

Many times Spanish speakers use “signature” to mean a course at school, but this is incorrect.  The English word for this is “subject”.

Ex: In high school we studied 6 subjects a day.

Ex: The UPS man asked for my signature before giving me the package.
